While some organizations go into developing countries and create business opportunities, others–like Hope International (HOPE)–go in and equip the people in these countries to start their own businesses. They do this by providing microfinance loans. HOPE “believes that microfinance can be a powerful force in changing the world for the better and that loving people as Christ loved others means caring for both physical and spiritual needs.” These loans are made possible through the generous donations of HOPE’s supporters and are in turn used to help fund startup business like bakeries, fabric shops, retail and cosmetic shops, and so on.
If you would like to make an impact by making a donation that will be used to fund one of these loans, click here to visit HOPE’s official website for more information. You can also visit the 58: website and contribute to a loan that is already in the process of being funded.
