In the summer of 2010, four university students decided to do something very unusual with their summer. While their friends and peers were probably off partying and spending their summer doing other superficial things, these four young men headed off to a rural village in Guatemala to learn more about extreme poverty. Seeking to do more than just passively gather information about extreme poverty, these young men spent their summer experiencing what it means to actually live in extreme poverty. They did this by living on just $1 a day for a total of 56 days. Yesterday, MTV posted an interview of these four young men detailing their experience and what they decided to do with it.
